On October 25, the mayor of Myślenice, Jarosław Szlachetka, was filmed throwing darts that hit a German flag at a PiS party rally, prompting his own explanation.
Incident at PiS Rally
During a PiS party rally on October 25, the mayor of Myślenice, Jarosław Szlachetka, threw darts that struck a target bearing a German flag graphic. He paused, then said, “O, widziałeś?” (“Did you see?”) after a hit.
Councilwoman Releases Video
Councilwoman Ewa Wincenciak‑Walas posted a clip from the mayor’s Facebook page on social media. She later explained the video had been removed from his profile and announced it was recorded at the rally, questioning whether such conduct is typical of PiS gatherings.
Mayor’s Response
On his own social channel the mayor said the dart was aimed only at a caricatured devil printed on the flag, not at the national symbol itself, and that “any other suggestion is manipulation.” He added a photo of the devil and called the incident a “pseudoaffair” in an interview with Radio Kraków.
Other Participants Highlighted
Journalist “Fakt” pointed out that parliamentarian Jan Mosiński also tossed darts at the same target. Mosiński denied that the dart hit the German flag, insisting it was “no problem,” though photographs clarified the devil was indeed on the graphic. He also discussed Poland’s economic ties with Germany, citing the planned increase of speed on the CPK to 350 km/h to accommodate German trains.
