Mokotów incident: Man throws furniture through balcony, counter‑terrorists intervene

On Monday evening (Oct. 27) at 18:00, Warsaw police received a report of an altercation on Olkuska Street in Mokotów where a man threw furniture out balcony, breaking a car window; counter‑terrorists were called in.

Alleged disturbance

In the evening of 27 October at around 18:00, police were dispatched to an apartment on Olkuska Street in the Mokotów district after a caller reported a disturbance. The suspect was reportedly throwing various items—including furniture, a microwave and a sink—through the balcony, shattering the pavement and damaging nearby parked cars, one of which had its window broken.

Escalated response

Multiple police patrols, three fire service units, the city operational group, gas and electricity emergency teams, and a medical rescue unit converged on the scene. Due to the lack of cooperation from the suspect, officers requested assistance from the Independent Anti‑Terrorism Police Sub‑Division. The operation lasted until 20:15, at which point the man was subdued and transported to a hospital.

Suspect background

Investigators noted that the address had previously been involved in domestic disturbance incidents. The man, who had recently been released from a prison, was already familiar to police from earlier interventions in the area.
