At 18:00 Tuesday, October 28, workers began safely removing passengers from a part of the departures precinct after spotting an abandoned piece of luggage.
Security teams isolate the zone
Airport police sealed the area from the departure gate side, while the State Fire Service guarded the ingress, and all customer traffic was stopped.
Inspection deems luggage harmless
A pyrotechnic assessment of the bag found no threat; safety officers declared the item safe and cleared it for return to the terminal.
No injuries reported
The operation finished without any casualties, and passengers were thanked for complying with the directives.
