Police Seize 4.5 kg of Drugs; Two Men Temporarily Arrested

Polish police in Maków Mazowiecki and Ciechanów seized 4.5 kg of marijuana and mefedron, temporarily arresting a 40‑year‑old driver and a 34‑year‑old resident of Przasnysz.

Operation Details

Policemen from the County Police Headquarters in Maków Mazowiecki worked with officers from the Local Police Section in Ciechanów. They conducted a roadside check on an Audi driven by a 40‑year‑old resident of Przasnysz. During the inspection, officials recovered substances believed to be marijuana and mefedron.

Following the vehicle search, officers also entered the suspect’s home, where additional drugs were seized.

Seized Substances

The operation yielded 4.5 kg of drugs, including significant amounts of marijuana and mefedron. The substances were found both in the car and in the residences of the 40‑year‑old driver and a 34‑year‑old resident of Przasnysz, who was also arrested.

Legal Consequences

Both men were charged with possession of a large quantity of narcotics. A prosecutor requested a preventive measure in the form of temporary arrest, which a court granted, sentencing each to three months in police detention. Either defendant faces up to ten years of imprisonment.
