The Masovian regional council has earmarked 8 million zł for a 2025‑2026 overhaul of the DW719 intersection near Michałowice’s Nowa Wieś, adding traffic lights, a dedicated left turn, and a new walk‑bike lane.
Project Scope
The project covers a stretch of DW719 between approximately km 22+531 and km 23+274 in Nowa Wieś, a distance of just over 740 m, extending from the end of the existing walk‑bike route on Brzozowa Street to the intersection with Główna Street.
Infrastructure Details
Plans call for installing a traffic light at the intersection with Główna, creating a dedicated left‑turn lane, widening sidewalks and adding a continuous walk‑bike corridor, as well as reorganising drainage and correcting the geometry where Polna Street joins DW719. The design and costing documents were prepared on behalf of the municipality.
Funding and Timeline
The Masovian voivodeship authority has listed the work in its 2025 execution plan, confirming the construction schedule and supervision of the DW719 segment in Nowa Wieś.
Local Authority Statements
According to Michałowice mayor Małgorzata Pachecka, the 300 000 zł project, fully financed by the municipality, has received a final decision from ZRID, and the documentation has been handed over to the regional road authority under an agreement. She expressed optimism about the upcoming reconstruction and highlighted the 8 million zł investment.
Impact on Traffic and Pedestrians
The upgrade aims to improve safety and traffic flow at a critical spot on DW719. Drivers heading towards Grodzisk and Warsaw will gain dedicated left‑turn lanes and signalised junctions, reducing today’s congestion caused by vehicles waiting to turn left and blocking the through traffic. Meanwhile, the new walk‑bike route will enhance conditions for unprotected road users between Brzozowa Street and the Główna intersection.
Construction Management
During construction, temporary traffic re‑organisation on DW719 will involve phased closures, speed limits and priority changes in line with the approved temporary traffic plan. Normal traffic order is scheduled to resume in 2026 after project completion.
