Giertych Declares Breakthrough on Ziobry, Accuses PiS of Hidden Scandal

Polish MP and lawyer Roman Giertych announced yesterday a breakthrough in the investigation of former Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobry, claiming the ruling PiS party is finally revealing its criminal ties.

Giertych Declares Ziobry Case a Breakthrough

Roman Giertych posted on X that yesterday’s developments constitute a breakthrough. He accused former Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobry of having terrorized many people for 20 years, claiming that his myth now collapsed and that no one will be frightened any more.

Giertych thanked former official Tomasz Mraz for his remorse and truth, noting that Mraz had previously exposed payments from the Justice Fund and is now defended by Giertych.

PiS Leadership Under Scrutiny

Giertych shared comments from PiS MP Waldemar Budy, stating that the party is “completely revealing itself” as it stands behind its vice‑president, the alleged head of an organized crime group who fled justice.

Sejm to Decide on Ziobry’s Immunity

On Friday afternoon, the Sejm will vote on the prosecutor’s request to lift the immunity of Zbigniew Ziobry and to arrest him. The proposal was approved by a parliamentary regulatory committee last Thursday.

The former justice minister was in Budapest at the time. Prosecution seeks to charge Ziobry with 26 counts, including forming and leading an organized crime group and embezzling funds from the Justice Fund, which were intended for legitimate recipients but were misappropriated.
