Van Driver Arrested After Attempting to Drag Teen Girl Into His Vehicle

A 30‑year‑old delivery truck driver was arrested in Lower Silesia after allegedly attempting to drag a teenage girl into his van on November 8 near Podgórzyn.

Incident Details

The incident occurred Saturday, 8 November, around 16:30 in the municipality of Podgórzyn, Lower Silesian Voivodeship. According to police, while a teenage girl was returning home, a delivery‑truck driver attempted to seize her. He first offered to drive her home, but when she refused, he tried to pull her into his vehicle. A witness intervened, preventing the attempted abduction.

Police Response

Police were alerted to the event. Officers immediately analysed camera footage, questioned witnesses, and verified operational information. This enabled them to identify the suspect. The 30‑year‑old was arrested the following day in Kamienna Góra County.

Charges and Restrictions

On Monday, the suspect faced charges of attempted kidnapping and coercion of the victim to act in a certain way. Court‑ordered measures included a police supervision order, prohibition of leaving the country and a ban on contacting or approaching the victim.
