Russians Push for Pokrovsko, Hiding in Fog

Russian forces have intensified efforts to seize the Ukrainian town of Pokrovsko, using heavy fog to mask their advance as more than 300 troops move into the city’s southern outskirts.

Russian forces aim to capture Pokrovsko

The U.S. think‑tank I‑S‑W reported on Tuesday that the pace of Russian advances toward Pokrovsko remains relatively slow, possibly because Russian command continues intense offensive operations across the entire theatre. Experts say this week Russians had already been present in the southeastern part of the city.

Enemy exploited adverse weather

The 7th Quick‑Reaction Airborne Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said Russians have intensified actions to penetrate Pokrovsko with light equipment through the southern outskirts, using dense fog to limit reconnaissance and target destruction. More than 300 Russians are now in the city, aiming to reach its northern borders and encircle the agglomeration. Since early November, Ukrainian Defence Forces have eliminated 162 Russians in Pokrovsko and wounded an additional 39.

Russians emerging from fog

A short video circulating online shows Russians driving cars and motorcycles, emerging from fog on the southern outskirts of Pokrovsko. BBC confirmed that the footage was recorded in that area. The clip reveals the apparent use of mist to conceal their movements.
