On 1 November 1995, Warsaw’s Folwarczna Street saw the murder of Ewa R., whose apartment was set on fire after she was killed by a sharp instrument; prosecutors are now re‑examining the case.
Murder of Ewa R. in Warsaw
On 1 November 1995, Ewa R. was killed with a sharp instrument on Folwarczna Street in Warsaw’s Praga‑Północ district. A blow to her chest caused hemorrhagic shock, and the apartment was set on fire after the crime.
The fire alarmed neighbours, who called emergency services. Ewa R. was survived by a young daughter, who was not present in the home at the time.
Possible Motive Links to Criminal Group Dispute
Investigators suspect that Ewa R. died in a dispute over the division of a criminal group. A few days earlier, her living partner Jerzy F. was shot dead in the same apartment.
The murder investigation has been dismissed for lack of a named perpetrator.
Investigation Reopened – Advanced Forensic Analysis
Prosecutor Piotr A. Skiba said that physical evidence from the scene is now being examined with the latest scientific techniques. The case, previously handled by Police “Archive X,” is being revisited by the capital police command.
Details of the new investigation remain confidential.
