PiS MP Michał Wójcik posted a photo on X showing KO MP Małgorzata Pępek standing beside a fire truck during a 95th‑anniversary event, then accused opposition politicians of exploiting the Justice Fund for political gains.
Photo Taken at 95th‑Anniversary Event
On 5 October, a ceremony celebrated the 95th anniversary of the volunteer fire brigade OSP Rycerka Dolna, during which a new fire truck was presented. The vehicle, costing nearly 1.2 million zloty, was financed by several public bodies and local government entities.
Wójcik’s Allegation of Politicised Justice Fund
In a message on X, Michał Wójcik alleged that the photo of Małgorzata Pępek and others was used to further a political campaign. He claimed that opposition parties were “chasing opposition” for such a political advantage, linking the remark to an ongoing investigation into the Justice Fund.
Participants in the Photo
The image shows Pępek among other attendees, also including PiS member Stanisław Baczyński of the Silesian regional council, who was invited by the event organisers. Pępek was present as one of the guests at the ceremony.
Funds Awarded to Electoral Districts
According to last year’s data, the Ministry of Justice reported that between 2019 and 2023 the Justice Fund granted 224 million zloty in non‑competition funding. More than 201 million of that amount went to districts where Suwerenna Polska candidates ran, averaging 5.5 million per district.
Districts with Suwerenna Polska candidates averaged 7.7 million, and those where the party secured a parliamentary seat averaged 9.3 million. In districts without Suwerenna Polska candidates, the average grant fell to 1.5 million.
