Three‑Vehicle Crash on Poland’s S2 Leaves Two Injured, Including Soldier, Causing Heavy Congestion

A collision involving three vehicles on Poland’s S2 highway between Konotopa and Opacz near Ursynów on Monday night knocked two people, one a soldier, into hospital and blocked three lanes.

Three‑Vehicle Collision on S2

The accident occurred at about 10 a.m. on the S2 motorway between Konotopa and Opacz, heading towards Ursynów. A Skoda, a Land Rover of the Military Gendarmerie, and a Citroën collided, blocking three lanes of traffic.

Injuries and Medical Response

The driver of the Skoda and a soldier traveling in the Military Gendarmerie Land Rover were injured and taken to hospital. First‑aid teams performed triage and initial assessments on the scene.

Severe Congestion Extends to Major Roads

The collision has blocked three lane‑pairs, paralyzing the section. Traffic jams spread to the A2 near Pruszków and the S8 expressway at the western junction, forcing drivers heading south into Warsaw onto alternative routes and lengthening travel times.

Ongoing Police Investigation

Police are determining detailed circumstances. Once the wreckage is cleared, traffic on S2 will gradually resume.
