Former TVP chief Jacek Kurski posted on X about a “smiling anecdote” during a security check at Warsaw Okęcie airport before a Brussels Airlines flight, prompting an official response from MSWiA spokesman Karolina Gałecka.
Kurski’s X Post
Jacek Kurski wrote on X: “An hour ago, on the boarding of Brussels Airlines flight SN 2555 from Brussels to Warsaw, passengers were checked for documents at Okęcie in the so‑called ‘cuff’. The reason for the control was not disclosed. Women were not examined. The search was for a man. What a smiling anecdote.”
Social Media Claims
Another X user, Jack Strong, added: “Warsaw Okęcie. A Brussels flight, moments before landing, a brief display of force. Police scrutinize every passenger—from the europarliament member to the lost tourist. A true red carpet of democracy.”
He continued: “Meanwhile Ziobro recently appeared on TVN. Hey, men of Tusk’s services, you may not watch Republic, but TVN probably has each of you set to number one. Who are these fujars, the fake cynk someone sent?”
Official Government Response
Karolina Gałecka, MSWiA spokesperson, replied: “The security check at Okęcie is a routine measure aimed at passenger safety. Linking it to a specific politician is an attempt to politicise the work of uniformed services. Searching for Zbigniew Z. is the state’s obligation.”
Absurd Allegations
Gałecka stressed that suggesting law enforcement possessed a fake “cynk” is absurd and an attempt to ridicule the justice system. She questioned why a politician under investigation, who claims no conscience, appears on television instead of cooperating with authorities.
Minister Calls on Ziobry
On Thursday, Waldemar Żurek urged Zbigniew Ziobry to attend the prosecutor’s office. The same day, prosecutors filed for the temporary arrest of the former justice minister. Parliament had already lifted his immunity and permitted detention.
Ziobry faces 26 charges, including leading an organized crime group and wrongdoing at the Justice Fund. He is reportedly in Hungary.
