A 21‑year‑old Polish man was taken into temporary custody after police confirmed two armed robberies in Warsaw shops, where he threatened cashiers with a knife.
Early Surveillance and Arrest
Police officers from the Criminal Department used solid operational knowledge and precise verification of information to locate the suspect in two Warsaw shops where he had committed armed robberies.
On the basis of their findings, the Warsaw‑Praga Południe District Prosecutor’s Office requested that the court order a temporary detention for the suspect.
The Violent Robberies
Within a few days, the suspect appeared in two shops, threatened cashiers with a knife and stole cash from the registers.
Police Investigation
Investigators analyzed the reports, collected evidence and quickly identified the suspect, who was living in a hostel. Police and operational teams from the Department of Fighting Crime and Property Crimes secured the hostel where the suspect was found sleeping and arrested him.
Detention and Charges
Police seized the suspect’s clothing, shoes and the knife he used to threaten the cashiers. He was taken to a police cell and later presented to the District Prosecutor’s Office, where he was charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous tool.
Following the prosecutor’s request, the court imposed a preventive measure of temporary detention on the suspect.
