19‑Year‑Old Fleeing DUI Arrested; Brother Insults Police While Intoxicated

On the night of 21 Nov., police in Radom arrested a 19‑year‑old driver who fled after a DUI chase and his 23‑year‑old brother, who was also intoxicated and insulted officers.

Police chase ends with double crash

At about 23:00 on Friday (21 Nov.), Traffic Division officers were conducting sobriety checks on street Werner and intended to stop a Skoda for a test. The young driver ignored the officers’ orders, fled, and during the escape caused two crashes – first striking a curb and damaging a wheel, then colliding with another vehicle. The chase concluded when he was apprehended by traffic police on 25 Czerwca Street.

Driver’s offenses and legal prohibition

Riot evidence showed the 19‑year‑old was intoxicated, with a blood alcohol concentration close to 1.5‰. He also held a court‑issued ban on driving, issued by the District Court in Opatów.

Intoxicated brother arrives, swears at officers

While the arrest was ongoing, a completely intoxicated 23‑year‑old brother arrived at the scene. He had nearly 2‰ alcohol in his system, bragged, and insulted the intervening police officers.

Charges and penalties

Both the driver and his brother were taken to a police cell. After sobering, the younger was informed of charges: refusing to submit to police inspection, driving under the influence, and violating a court‑issued driving ban, each offence punishable by up to five years’ imprisonment. The 23‑year‑old faced charges for insulting public officials.
