Tragic House Fire Claims 89‑Year‑Old Woman

On 11:17 a.m. a single‑family house in Nowa Dzierzążnia, Poland, erupted in flames, killing an 89‑year‑old woman inside.

Fire Detected in Nowa Dzierzążnia

At 11:17 a.m. the fire‑rescue services were called to a single‑family home in the town of Nowa Dzierzążnia, Płońsk County. An emergency alert was sent by the family who could not gain entry to the house.

Emergency Response Commences

Five fire crews and police units were dispatched. Upon arrival, heavy smoke filled the building, with flames seen in one room and smoke spreading throughout the house.

Search Inside House

Firefighters, using airway protection equipment, searched rooms while simultaneously extinguishing flames. During the search they located the body of the 89‑year‑old woman, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Scene Stabilized

The fire crews remained on the scene to conduct post‑fire operations, ventilation, and secure the premises. Police, supervised by a prosecutor, examined the site and collected evidence.

Investigation Underway

The cause of the fire is not yet known. Police and prosecutors will investigate potential fault in building installations, failure to ventilate the house, and other possible ignition sources, and determine if any fire safety regulations were breached.
