Collision in Warsaw’s City Centre
On 18 November around 5 a.m., a Chevrolet driven by a Ukrainian citizen collided with a city bus line 127 near the intersection of Jerozolimskie Lanes and Marszałkowska Street in central Warsaw. The accident occurred as the bus was heading towards Praga, and a witness observed the driver changing lanes dangerously.
Alcohol Test Reveals 3 Promile
Breath‑analysis conducted by the police indicated nearly 3 promile of alcohol in the driver’s breath. The vehicle had no recent technical inspection.
Stolen Vehicle Discovered
Investigation revealed that the driver’s car had been stolen from a colleague and was intended for that person. The vehicle had no valid registration.
No Injuries, Police Arrest
Despite the collision, neither the bus passengers nor the driver sustained injuries. The officer on scene detained the Ukrainian citizen for drunken driving and attempted escape.
Legal Proceedings Ahead
The driver will face charges for driving while intoxicated, causing a collision, and possible vehicle theft. He is not to be deported from Poland.
