The Polish Institute of Meteorology and Water Management has issued early warnings for up to 25 cm of snowfall across several regions, urging residents to prepare for perilous roads on Nov. 26‑27.

The Institute has released first‑degree warnings for intense snowfall in eight voivodeships: Lesser Poland, Silesia, Łódź, Masovian, Podlaskie, Warmian‑Masurian, Kuyavian‑Pomeranian, Greater Poland, and Lower Silesian. It forecasts a 10‑15 cm increase in snow cover.
Second‑Degree Alerts Target Additional Areas
Second‑degree alerts have been issued for parts of Silesia, Opole, Lower Silesian, Lesser Poland, Greater Poland, Kuyavian‑Pomeranian, Łódź, Masovian, and Warmian‑Masurian. Snow cover there may rise 20‑25 cm. Podkarpacie and Lesser Poland also face second‑degree melt warnings.
RCB Road‑Safety Alert for Nov. 26‑27
The Government Security Center has warned that on 26‑27 November, severe snowfall is expected. Drivers and pedestrians should exercise caution on roads and sidewalks and follow weather bulletins.
Current Road Conditions Across Poland
Roads today are already wet; snow falls in the south, centre and north, rain on the east, and localized freezing rain. Slippery conditions occur in Warmia‑Masuria, northern Masovia, Greater Poland, Lower Silesia and Łódź. Fog blankets the Pomeranian and Opole voivodeships. The General Directorate of National Roads says all national roads remain passable, and 1,420 winter‑maintenance units worked in the last 24 hours.
Weather Forecast Highlights
East‑eastern Poland will see rain up to 10‑15 mm; elsewhere snow prevails, with possible freezing rain in the northeastern sector. Visibility during snowfall may drop to as low as 200 m. From Silesia to Warmia‑Masuria, and into the Carpathians, snow is expected.
