On RMF FM, PiS MP Patryk Jaki condemned war‑time flattery towards Donald Tusk, criticized former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki’s remarks, and urged the party to release a new constitutional draft amid internal factional clashes.
Jaki Urges Release of Constitutional Draft
Jaki said PiS should present a fresh draft of Poland’s constitution, noting that the party has long struggled over its vision and programme. He added that some details in the circulating information may be exaggerated.
No Need to Flatter Tusk
In a comment to listeners, Jaki dismissed the idea that PiS should kowtow to Donald Tusk, asserting that the leadership remains in charge of any wartime decisions.
Criticizing Morawiecki’s Interview
Jaki struck back at Morawiecki’s appearance in Grzegorz Sroczyński’s Gazeta.pl interview, calling Tusk and his team “a Prussian party in Poland”. He claimed he would endorse a national unity government with the Civic Coalition if war threatened.
Presidium Holds Meeting to Ease Internal Tensions
According to Newsweek, a PiS Politburo meeting was convened on Wednesday to calm internal frictions, described as a “rescue” session aimed at resolving disputes between the Harcerze faction led by Morawiecki and the Maslarze faction chaired by Tobiasz Bocheński and Przemysław Czarnek.
Factional Struggles in PiS Continue
Reports confirm that senior party members have not yet aligned with the team drafting a new party programme. Speculation about war-time coalitions and factional power plays persists as the party navigates internal divisions.
