S7 Trunk Hit by Three Vehicles, Stemming Multi‑Kilometre Jam

Around 4:30 p.m. on the S7 near Niepiekła, a 26‑year‑old driver collided with traffic separators, leading to a chain reaction that left three cars and barriers wrecked and caused a multi‑kilometre jam toward Gdańsk.

Initial collision with traffic separators

At about 16:30, a 26‑year‑old Audi driver from Ostróda County struck the plastic separators marking the lane on a reconstruction section of the S7 near Niepiekła, causing them to fall onto the Warsaw‑bound lane.

Secondary impact on Skoda and Mercedes

The fallen barriers hit a Skoda driven by a 35‑year‑old from Siedlce County that was traveling correctly. While checking the scene, a 23‑year‑old Mercedes from Warsaw swerved to avoid the parked car, slamming into the concrete shoulder and stopping in the middle of the road.

Traffic chaos and congestion

The wrecked barriers and vehicles have severely reduced capacity, generating a multi‑kilometre jam especially on the Gdańsk‑bound direction and forcing drivers to expect longer travel times and maintain caution near the wreckage.

Police presence and safety measures

Police have secured the area, placed warning triangles, and are conducting traffic‑relief work. All parties were sober and uninjured; however, vehicle and infrastructure damage requires clean‑up from relevant services.
