Tram Work on Rakowicka Street Affects Mokotów Passengers

Tram lines will be diverted on November 29–30 as a new traction network section is installed between Aleja Niepodległości and Rakowicka in Mokotów, temporarily halting service along several streets.

New Traction Network Section

On the weekend of 29–30 November a new traction‑network section will be installed at the intersection of Aleja Niepodległości and Rakowicka, creating a new joint‑rail node. The work cannot be carried out while power is supplied, so tram traffic will be halted on Aleja Niepodległości and the surrounding streets of Rakowicka, Boboli and Wołosk — from Nowowiejjska to Woronicza. A week earlier similar work was carried out on the opposite end of the new route, at the junction with Puławska.

Track Suspension and Bus Replacement

During the closure, replacement buses of line Z‑1 will run between Warszawa Centralna and Woronicza. A temporary tram line 71 will also operate, linking Miasteczko Wilanów to the Marymont metro via Aleja Rzeczypospolitej, Jana III Sobieskiego, Belwederska, Spacerowa, Goworka, Puławska, Marszałkowska, Nowowiejska, Aleja Niepodległości, Marzanna Chłubińskiego, Aleja Jan Paula II, Popiełuszki and Słowackiego.

Route Changes for Lines 17 and 33

Lines 17 and 33 will alter their routes. Line 17, which usually runs between the Winnica loop and PKP Służewiec, will skip the closed section by using Nowowiejka, Marszałkowska, Puławska and Woronicza. Line 33 will be redirected to the Narutowicz loop via Nowowiejka, Krzywickiego and Filtrowa. Line 14 will not operate during this period.

Reopening and Completion

Tram services will resume along their original routes on Monday 1 December, starting with the first morning runs. The newly built section on Rakowicka street is expected to enter service later in December.
