Stefanie Pieper, 31, was last seen on 23 November after leaving a taxi with a friend. She sent a text to a acquaintance saying it was safe to arrive home.
Later she texted again that she felt someone on the hallway. Neighbours reported hearing a doorbell and seeing her former partner in the building.
Alarming Texts Before Disappearance
Pieper failed to show up for a scheduled photo shoot and could not be reached. Her relatives reported her missing to authorities.
Body Found in Suitcase Near Majsperk
On 28 November, a suitcase deep in a forest near Majsperk, Slovenia, yielded Pieper’s body. Preliminary investigations indicate asphyxiation.
Former Partner Arrested
Police arrested Pieper’s former partner, who admitted guilt and led authorities to the suitcase. Witnesses saw him leave his apartment with a suspicious package before transporting the body to Slovenia and burying it in the woods.
He was also suspected of attempting to destroy his car; authorities received a report of a burning vehicle at a casino parking near the border, which turned out to be his own.
His brother was detained, and authorities found the man worked as a nightclub security guard.
