In Słupsk, Poland, authorities charged 19‑year‑old Alan G. with murdering a 31‑year‑old man whose dismembered body was found in a city park in November.
Charges Against Alan G.
The Słupsk District Prosecutor’s Office announced that two charges were brought against Alan G. in the murder of Mateusz D., whose dismembered body was found in the Cultural and Recreation Park in Słupsk.
The main charges presented were murder with special cruelty and posthumous desecration of the body, according to prosecutor Pawel Wnuk quoted by Głos Pomorza. He faces life imprisonment. The prosecution has requested temporary arrest of the 19‑year‑old.
Suspect Reveals Motive
Alan G. admitted to the murder and stated that robbery was the motive. He claimed that after killing the victim he dismembered the body in his apartment’s bathroom using kitchen knives, then transferred the pieces to a suitcase and carried them to the park where he buried them in trash bags before burning the suitcase, said a spokesman for the Słupsk prosecutor’s office as quoted by Zawsze Pomorze.
The prosecutor also noted that the suspect had received psychiatric treatment in the past and had no prior convictions.
Murder of 31‑Year‑Old in Słupsk
According to Głos Pomorza, the victim’s family reported him missing at the end of November. On December 1, police detained the 19‑year‑old Alan G. to locate the burial site. Later that day, authorities discovered the 31‑year‑old’s body in the Park of Culture and Recreation in Słupsk.
An autopsy revealed the cause of death to be multiple stab wounds near the heart, with dismemberment occurring after the victim’s death. The suspect, who knew the victim as a roommate, was held responsible.
