Freedom is priceless; it must be defended—a Polish tradition from the 15th century, Karol Nawrocki says. He calls for unity with Ukraine against Russian imperialism.
Karol Nawrocki on the Warsaw Battle
President Karol Nawrocki commemorated the anniversary of the Warsaw Battle on his social media. He highlighted the role of Ukrainians who fought alongside Polish forces against the Red Army and criticized Russian imperialism as a threat to the liberty of other nations. He declared that Russian expansion is rooted in domestic despotism, where the only free person is the ruler. He believes that Russian imperialism can only be defeated by an alliance of the free.
“That’s Why We Stand by Ukraine”
He invoked three historic victories over Russian forces—at Orzysz in 1514, Klużyn in 1610, and the 1920 Battle of Warsaw—to emphasize that resisting Russian imperialism is about human and national freedom, not economics. “Freedom is priceless. It cannot be bought or sold. It must be defended,” he wrote, inviting all who cherish liberty to join Poles in marking the defeat of Russian despotism and protecting freedom.
Polish Armed Forces Day
At the 12:00 parade marking Polish Armed Forces Day, Nawrocki remarked that the 1920 victory over Bolsheviks taught that Russia is not invincible. He pointed out Russia’s recent aggression against Ukraine and urged support for free nations, especially Poland. He threatened the government’s reliance on foreign armaments and pledged to push for spending 5% of Poland’s GDP on defense.
