Police in Warsaw’s Elbląg district arrested a 40‑year‑old man who allegedly pressured a 12‑year‑old girl into sexual activity, following a warrant from the local prosecutor.

Polish police from Warsaw District Police I conducted an operation in Elbląg at 6:00 a.m. on a warrant issued by the Warsaw Śródmieście District Prosecutor’s Office.

The operation aimed to apprehend a local criminal suspected of persuading a minor under 15 to engage in sexual contact and other acts.

Suspect’s Alleged Sexual Advance

A 12‑year‑old girl told the suspect her age and school class; he demanded a sexual meeting. Police entered the suspect’s home and detained him shortly thereafter.

Evidence Seized

Investigators seized all storage devices and electronic equipment. Several laptops contained removed hard drives and child‑pornographic material, linking the suspect to prior convictions.

They also found a bike‑sharing card used to entice another minor.

Prosecution and Court Decision

After a night in custody, the man faced charges under Article 200a §2 of the Polish Criminal Code for offering sexual activity to a minor.

A court granted temporary arrest for three months, with a potential sentence of up to two years’ imprisonment.

Police urged parents to monitor their children’s communications and avoid meetings with strangers reached through messaging apps, citing the danger of online grooming.
