A pedestrian was hit on a marked crosswalk on National Road 62 near Chociszew in the Płońsk County on Friday morning. The victim, a 42‑year‑old Ukrainian national, was resuscitated at the scene and her condition is described as serious.
Victim and vehicle
The incident occurred at about 7:10 a.m. Two Ukrainian women, aged 42 and 39, were crossing the designated pedestrian crossing when the 42‑year‑old was struck by a Dacia vehicle. The car was traveling from Warsaw toward Czerwińsk, and the driver was a 40‑year‑old resident of Warsaw.
Emergency response
Rescuers performed resuscitation on site before transporting the critically injured woman by air ambulance to a hospital in Warsaw. The LPR (Air Rescue Service) helicopter landed at the scene and assisted in the emergency operations.
Road closure
Due to the rescue efforts, the stretch of the road toward Czerwińsk remains blocked. Delays could last several hours. Police and other services are on the scene, and motorists are urged to follow their instructions.
