Lugicap Ice Perf Lets Manual Wheelchairs Glide
The free ice rink on Kajakowa 12b has once again opened its doors, this time equipped with the Lugicap Ice Perf platform. The device lets users in manual wheelchairs board safely and glide across the ice with a skating helper.
Only for Manual Four‑Wheel Trolleys
Designed for four‑wheel manual wheelchairs, the platform bears a CE marking and is not intended for electric wheelchairs. It attaches the entire chair to a lightweight sled that can be pushed by a skater.
Proven Success Last Winter
The Lugicap Ice Perf first appeared in Poland last winter and was well received by users. After the wheelchair is secured to the sled, the user stays seated while a skater on the ice pushes the sled forward.
Compact, CE‑Certified Design
The French‑made sled features an aluminum chassis, fits wheelchairs 40–61 cm wide, and supports up to 130 kg. Its compact dimensions allow easy maneuvering on the ice, and the CE‑certified medical device meets safety standards.
Secure Assembly and Safety Features
The system uses straps and a safety harness that links the wheelchair to the assisting skater, ensuring stability and preventing accidental release. Similar solutions are used at rinks elsewhere in Poland, such as the Czechowice‑Dziedzice Sports Centre.

Deputy mayor Cezary Holdenmajer said the district will continue to provide the innovative platform to encourage as many residents as possible to enjoy winter recreation.
