On December 15, Polish Law and Justice leader Jarosław Kaczyński appeared on a YouTube channel where yellow‑black placards reading “Space for Your Ad” drew public and media attention.
Yellow‑Black Sign Triggers Public Debate
During Kaczyński’s appearance on the channel co‑created by Michał Karnowski, Marcin Tulicki and Michał Adamczyk, two bright placards bearing the phrase “miejsce na twoją reklamę” were positioned near the party leader, sparking curiosity among viewers and commentators.
Film Critic Jakub Majmurek Weighs In
Polish film critic and columnist Jakub Majmurek noted that the placards were the most striking element of the interview, expressing unease about a leader of a powerful party appearing amid such advertising‑themed décor. He wrote that a party leader might hesitate to present himself against such a backdrop.
Kaczyński Addresses Internal Dispute
In the same interview, Kaczyński discussed the governing coalition, health care status and the factional conflict within his party. Asked whether the situation was a “dispute, conflict or open war,” he replied that it was a dispute that also has a significant media reflection, describing it as much larger than the party itself.
Comments on Media Handling and Future Tensions
He acknowledged that some remarks had been interpreted poorly, leading to protests and further disagreement. Kaczyński said that the party is not as closed or “terrorized” as the governing coalition, especially in light of the rising public criticism, and that the tensions would likely persist in the coming days.
