On December 16, Zbigniew Ziobro’s passport was revoked by the Masovian Voivode after a request from the National Prosecutor’s Office, as prosecutors move to press 26 charges linking him to corruption in the Justice Fund and alleged criminal organization.
Revocation of Ziobro’s Passport
According to the Masovian Voivode Mariusz Frankowski, Ziobro’s passport was annulled following a request from the National Prosecutor’s Office. The decision was announced on 16 December, and Ziobro was informed that the cancellation would be recorded in the passport register, Interpol, and the Schengen Information System.
Background of Former Diplomatic Passport Revocation
Earlier in the year, Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski had annulled Ziobro’s diplomatic passport, a separate incident connected to the same case concerning irregularities in the Justice Fund and the politician’s departure from the country.
Procedural Steps and Notifications
The unregistration letter was sent to Ziobro by post. Once the voivode made the decision, the information was forwarded to the relevant documents registry and international databases.
Ongoing Legal Proceedings
Investigators plan to charge Ziobro with 26 crimes, including the alleged organization of a criminal group operating within the Ministry of Justice. The accumulated potential sentence could reach up to 25 years in prison.
Imminent Court Hearing
A preliminary court session concerning the former justice minister is scheduled for 22 December. The District Court of Warsaw‑Mokotów will decide on the prosecution’s request.
