On Christmas Eve, nearly 200 people gathered at Warsaw’s Kamienica Theatre to share a traditional meal and celebrate with the homeless, contributing volunteers, and local police.
A Gathering for the Homeless
The Kamienica Theatre hosted its annual pre‑christmas event, inviting those in poverty and housing crisis to share a Christmas meal. Warsaw City Police and volunteers served guests with festive dishes.
Almost two hundred attendees broke bread, sang carols, and enjoyed a hearty holiday meal together.
Remembering the Theatre Founder
Participants reflected on the late founder and director Emilian Kamiński, who passed away three years ago on the second day of Christmas. Although absent in body, his spirit was felt among the crowd.
Community Support Efforts
The event featured warm greetings, a joyful atmosphere, a well‑arranged table, and Christmas packages. All wished one another a peaceful holiday and courage to overcome life’s crises.
Ongoing City Initiatives
Warsaw City Police provide year‑round care for those without roofs. They run initiatives such as “A Little Warmth for the Homeless” (with Caritas Polska), “Street Medical Patrol” (with the “We Are Hope” clinic and Caritas Polska), and a Christmas “Package for the Homeless.”
