Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski thanked U.S. delegates after a meeting, calling their proposals realistic, effective, and credible, as he pushes a 20‑point peace plan toward war’s conclusion.
20‑Point Peace Plan Unveiled
Zelenski announced that the newly released peace plan contains 20 detailed points. He described it as a basic document for ending hostilities and urged Moscow to respond by 24 December. Ukraine signals readiness for further talks, including a potential meeting between the two presidents.
High‑Level U.S. Engagement
The delegation included National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustam Umerow and Foreign Minister Andrij Sybiha. Umerow met again with U.S. officials on 25 December to reaffirm the commitment to swift progress. Zelenski stated that the 24‑hour, seven‑day effort strives to bring the brutal war to a close.
Diplomatic Tone Amid Criticism
In contrast, Kremlin officials insisted negotiations proceed quietly, rejecting “megaphone diplomacy.” Russian spokesmen criticized the current arrangements and reiterated demands towards Ukraine and NATO members.
Ongoing Updates and Holiday Wishes
Zelenski posted daily updates on the platform X, expressing gratitude for constructive dialogue and holiday greetings. He hoped that the recent agreements and ideas would prove useful for the Ukrainian people.
