Pedestrian and Driver Fined After Marki Crossing Collision

A pedestrian and driver were fined after a collision at a marked crossing in Marki, Wołomin County on January 14.

Emergency Response

On Wednesday, January 14, at 15:50, a report of a road accident in Marki (Wołomin County) at Legionowa Street 30, where a woman was allegedly hit, came to the command post of the State Fire Service in Wołomin. Firefighters, police, and a medical rescue team were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, the firefighters secured the operation area, and medical personnel provided assistance to the injured pedestrian. It was determined at the scene that the woman did not require transportation to the hospital.

Police Investigation Findings

Police who arrived at the scene conducted proceedings and reconstructed the course of the event. According to the officers’ findings, a 45-year-old pedestrian entered the roadway at a designated crossing point during difficult weather conditions, directly in front of an approaching vehicle.

The driver of the Hyundai, despite driving slowly, failed to stop the car in time – a collision occurred, and after the incident, the car veered into a ditch.

Shared Responsibility

In the police assessment, both road users contributed equally to the incident. Both the 45-year-old pedestrian and the 25-year-old Hyundai driver were issued fines.
