Mysterious Object Found in Warmińsko-Mazurskie

In Pieczarki, Węgorzewo County, Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship, an unusual object was discovered on Wednesday, as reported by RMF FM. The object was a balloon bearing Cyrillic inscriptions. Police cordoned off the discovery site and summoned relevant services for investigation. The balloon was transported to the Criminal Laboratory of the Voivodeship Police Headquarters in Olsztyn.

Preliminary Findings on Węgorzewo Balloon

A technician from the Olsztyn laboratory, cited by the broadcaster, stated the object is likely a meteorological radiosonde equipped with GPS tracking devices. The device can reach altitudes of up to 30 kilometers. The prosecutor’s office and the Internal Security Agency are investigating the balloon’s origin. The institutions will conduct a detailed examination of the find.

In mid-December, police in Lubelskie Voivodeship announced actions in Radzyń County. “In Żelizna village, a man noticed object parts resembling a drone during a forest walk,” police stated. Radzyn Podlaski County Police notified the Military Gendarmerie in Biała Podlaska and the prosecutor’s office.
