Russian media reports that Alexei Sklar, former deputy minister of labor, has died. TASS reported that Sklar apparently attempted suicide, and a statement was found addressed to the Ministry of Interior, requesting an investigation into allegations of being provoked to commit suicide, according to Meduza.

Russian media indicate that the former politician reportedly had financial difficulties and was estranged from his family. It was friends who alerted authorities on Thursday after receiving a message from Sklar. When emergency services arrived, the former deputy minister of labor was already dead.

Who Was Alexei Sklar?

Alexei Sklar was born on April 25, 1975, in Slavyansk-na-Kubani. From 2018 to 2022, he served as Deputy Minister of Labor of the Russian Federation, overseeing the development of information systems and the provision of electronic government services. After resigning from his position, Sklar founded his own company with his wife.
