US military sources confirm sending forces to Middle East amid escalating tensions with Iran.
Trump Preparing Attack on Iran?
Military sources informed Fox News that due to escalating tensions with Iran, at least one American aircraft carrier is being sent to the Middle East. It is not known, however, whether it is the USS Abraham Lincoln, currently in the South China Sea, or one of the ships that departed from Norfolk and San Diego at the beginning of the week.
Currently, about 30,000 soldiers are assigned to this region, under the responsibility of US Central Command. At present, no US aircraft carriers are operating there. According to AP News, as of Tuesday, five small ships were located off the coast of Iran.
USA Expanding Options in the Middle East
In the near future, American air, sea and land forces are to be sent to the region. This way, Donald Trump will have a wide range of options for carrying out a potential attack on Iran. Its implementation will depend on Tehran’s further steps.
According to a Fox News informant, if the US president decides to take military action, it will be “something else, more offensive.”
Tension in Iran
According to Reuters reports, anti-government protests are ongoing in Iran, which are being suppressed by local services. The US has therefore announced intervention.
Iran has warned that a potential attack from this country would be met with a response in the form of strikes against US military bases in the Middle East. AP News journalists have established that part of the personnel at a key US base in Qatar was to receive an evacuation recommendation by Wednesday evening.
