A 17-year-old was lured and brutally beaten by peers in Piaseczno, with six suspects aged 14-18 detained the same day.
The Attack
A 17-year-old was lured under the pretext of a social gathering and brutally attacked by a group of peers in Piaseczno. The perpetrators beat, kicked, and humiliated the victim while recording everything on their smartphones.
Police Response
Police from the Piaseczno station immediately launched an intensive investigation after receiving a report from the victim’s mother. Within hours, they had detained the first suspects and eventually apprehended all six individuals involved in the assault.
Legal Proceedings
The three oldest suspects, aged 17 and 18, were brought before the Regional Court in Piaseczno, which granted a three-month arrest warrant at the request of the prosecutor. The three younger suspects, aged 14, 15, and 16, were placed in juvenile shelters for three months by the Regional Court for the Capital City of Warsaw.
Ongoing Investigation
The investigation is being led by the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Piaseczno and has a developmental character. Authorities are verifying whether the suspects were involved in other similar incidents, including those of a hooligan nature. Violence and humiliation constitute criminal offenses punishable by up to 12 years in prison.
Warning to Parents
Authorities are appealing to parents and guardians to monitor their children’s activities, both offline and online. Young people often don’t realize the impact their words and actions can have on others, and lack of parental attention can lead to devastating consequences for both victims and perpetrators.
