Polish Air Force pilot Urszula Brzezińska-Hołownia is leaving military service due to family reasons, according to her husband former Sejm Marshal Szymon Hołownia.
Leaving the Army: “Strictly Family Reasons”
TVN24 was first to report about the departure of Air Force pilot Urszula Brzezińska-Hołownia from the Polish Army. Her husband, former Sejm Marshal Szymon Hołownia, confirmed the station’s reports.
When asked by journalists about the reasons for this decision, he stated that they are “strictly family reasons.” The politician emphasized that his partner now wants to focus more on raising their daughters.
“In our family life, the time has come when we realized that more time with our children is what is needed today,” he said. “As the saying goes, in 20 years, the only ones who will remember that you stayed longer at work will be your children,” he pointed out.
End of Career? Hołownia on Active Reserve
Hołownia emphasized that the pilot’s job is very demanding. “A soldier like my wife, serving in the air force, having duties in different places, traveling constantly… This is very burdensome work,” he explained.
“However, I hope that my wife’s competencies will still be utilized. Please remember that there is something called active reserve now. After some time, one can return if they want,” Hołownia noted.
He also emphasized that he is proud of his partner. “My wife is absolutely a heroine to me. She broke all glass ceilings, I’ve been with her since she was a second lieutenant. I know how many battles she had to fight,” he emphasized.
