Safety Appeal Issued for 34th WOŚP Finale in Warsaw

Warsaw Metropolitan Police urge public safety during weekend events for charity’s Grand Finale.

Safety for Volunteers

Volunteer safety is a priority during the WOŚP Finale. Police emphasize risks like theft attempts and advise against solo collection in isolated areas, especially after dark. Volunteers should wear visible ID, keep sealed collection boxes secured, and regularly deposit funds at headquarters.

Minors must collect under adult supervision or in direct contact with a headquarters or guardian. Aggressive behavior, theft attempts, or concerns should be reported immediately by walking away and calling 112.

Public Safety Guidelines

Donors are urged to verify volunteer credentials – official, named ID and sealed collection boxes are mandatory. Avoid giving money to those without proper identification. In crowds, keep bags closed and valuables secure to deter pickpockets. Use only official WOŚP channels for cashless donations.

Report suspicious behavior, theft attempts, or incidents to police (112) and, if possible, the WOŚP headquarters. Witnessing such actions helps ensure a safe event for all.

Traffic and Pedestrian Rules

Drivers should expect increased pedestrian traffic near event sites like headquarters, stages, and picnics. Follow temporary traffic changes and detours directed by police. Park only in designated areas to avoid blocking emergency services.

Pedestrians must use marked crossings, even in slow-moving traffic. Wear reflective gear after dark. Avoid suddenly entering roads near bus stops, booths, or stages. Assist vulnerable individuals navigating crowds.

Emergency Contacts

During the WOŚP Finale, police patrols will be visible at main events, streets, public transport, and shopping centers. For immediate assistance, contact emergency services 112, approach a nearby patrol, or provide detailed information about the location, suspects, and any available evidence.
