Philadelphia man hospitalized in critical condition after violent dispute over cleared parking space.
Woman Struck 45-Year-Old with Weapon
On Thursday, January 29, in Philadelphia’s Kensington district, an argument broke out between two men over a shoveled parking spot. According to CBS News, police determined the men fought over the spot, with a 45-year-old pulling a knife and a 21-year-old retrieving a firearm.
After briefly putting away their weapons, a 36-year-old woman joined the fight, retrieving a weapon from her car and striking the 45-year-old. She also fired a shot into the ground, but no one was hit. Photos and videos of the incident appeared on social media.
Man in Critical Condition Taken to Hospital
The 45-year-old suffered head injuries and was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition. The 21-year-old and 36-year-old woman were arrested, and officers secured the weapons used during the fight. An investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances of the incident.

Eric Gripp of the Philadelphia Police told 6 Action News that parking disputes have occurred in the past. He mentioned recent incidents and threats reported by residents, saying: “We are all under a lot of stress right now. The snow certainly doesn’t help. But remember, this could be an opportunity to meet neighbors and help each other.”
