In Opole Lubelskie, the incident occurred on the morning of August 2, 2022. A woman called police, reporting that her husband had been stabbed by their grandson. Police determined that 26-year-old Kamil S., who lived with his grandparents, stabbed his 73-year-old grandfather nine times while he was still sleeping.
The 26-year-old fled, and the 73-year-old was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Arrest of Kamil S.
Kamil S. was arrested nearly three hours later. Police noticed him walking along provincial road 747 toward the town of Kamień. The man was sober and was taken into custody.
In August, police reported that the 26-year-old faced up to life imprisonment for attempted murder.
Court Discontinues Proceedings
According to Gazeta.pl, on December 18, the District Court in Lublin discontinued proceedings against the 26-year-old due to his insanity. At the same time, Kamil S. was committed to a psychiatric facility.
