Chinese Student Charged with Drugging, Raping and Filming Unconscious Partner

27-year-old Chinese student stands trial in Munich for allegedly drugging, raping and filming his unconscious girlfriend and neighbor.

Alleged Crimes

A 27-year-old Chinese student is standing trial in Munich for allegedly repeatedly drugging his 29-year-old girlfriend and neighbor with strong sedatives, raping her while unconscious, and filming the acts. According to prosecutors, it is a miracle the victim did not die.

Video recordings allegedly show the man administering additional doses of medication or pressing cloths soaked with intoxicating substances to the victim’s face to ensure she remained unconscious during the rapes.

Charges

The student is charged with seven counts of attempted murder, causing serious bodily harm, particularly severe rape and attempted rape with fatal intent. The defendant’s lawyer has stated he plans to make a statement during the trial but has not specified when.

Instead of the defendant’s statement, video recordings he allegedly made while committing the crimes will be presented on the first day of the trial. The public will be excluded from the proceedings to protect the victim.

Online Drug Orders

According to investigations, the student allegedly filmed himself exploiting his girlfriend, also of Chinese origin, in his Munich apartment after administering her sedatives in different days during 2024. The allegedly ordered the intoxicating substances online, primarily through the Telegram messaging app.

The prosecution alleges the abuse continued for several months in 2024. Due to the man’s awareness of the potential consequences and his acceptance that the unconscious woman could die, charges also include attempted murder.

Online Chat Groups

The defendant allegedly exchanged information online with other Chinese men who shared similar sexual fantasies about committing such crimes against women. According to investigators, the men discussed in detail how and in what order to administer drugs for optimal effect.

The defendant allegedly sent images of his acts to other men, who were identified as members of a common group chat. Investigations are ongoing against at least one additional person, but the Munich I Public Prosecutor’s Office has not disclosed how many suspects are involved.

Trial Schedule

The Munich court has scheduled 18 trial days for this case, with a verdict possibly announced by the end of March.
