A man attempted to abduct a girl in Ziębice on January 27, but was stopped by a passerby after the child resisted.
Man Attempted to Abduct Child
A dangerous situation occurred on January 27 in the small town of Ziębice. Against the will of the minor girl, the man grabbed her by the hand, then ordered her to move away with him in a direction opposite to her place of residence. When the girl resisted, the man pulled her by her jacket. A passerby helped the child, the attacker let the girl go.
Charges Filed Against Suspect
A few days later, the family reported the incident to the police. The man was soon after arrested and charged with abduction or deprivation of liberty of a minor under 15 years of age, for which he can face up to five years in prison. The court applied a temporary arrest for the man for a period of two months.
Police Decline to Disclose Details
According to asp. szt. Paweł Pitoń from the KPP in Ząbkowice Śląskie, the man had not previously been convicted of similar offenses. The police does not disclose the age of the suspect because the community is small and the man would be easily identifiable. Investigators also do not disclose how the man explained his behavior.
