Military Counter-Intelligence Service Detains Ministry of Defense Employee

Polish Military Counter-Intelligence Service has detained a long-term Ministry of Defense employee on suspicion of foreign intelligence collaboration.

Ministry of Defense Confirms Employee Detention

The Ministry of Defense published a statement on Tuesday, February 3, confirming the arrest of a long-term ministry employee at their headquarters in Warsaw. The individual has been charged with collaborating with a foreign intelligence service.

The case is being handled by the Military Counter-Intelligence Service (SKW) in cooperation with the Military Prosecutor’s Office Department and the Military Gendarmerie.

Unofficial Report: Arrested Employee Works in Strategy Department

According to unofficial sources reported by Onet, the detained individual was an employee of the Ministry of Defense’s Department of Strategy and Defense Planning at a mid-level position. The arrest occurred on Tuesday after 8:00 AM shortly after the employee arrived at work.

Military Gendarmerie officers escorted the employee out of the ministry building, according to the report.

Strong Evidence Against Detained Employee

A source familiar with the investigation told Onet that the individual had been under surveillance for many months, with their actions thoroughly documented and analyzed. “The evidence gathered against him is very strong,” the source stated.

The detained individual is currently being interrogated by the military department of the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office, according to the report.
