Trial Begins for Son of Norwegian Princess Accused of 38 Crimes

The District Court in Oslo on Monday, February 2, agreed to a police request to detain the eldest son of the Norwegian princess for another four weeks, reported Reuters Agency. The decision was based on fears he might commit additional crimes. While not final, the man’s lawyer is considering an appeal.

Until this point, 29-year-old Marius Borg Hoiby had been at liberty, awaiting Tuesday’s (February 3) hearing. He faces charges including four cases of rape, domestic violence, assault, and drug possession. A total of 38 charges have been brought against him. Additionally, on Sunday, the 29-year-old was arrested for causing bodily injury, using a knife, and violating a court order.

What Did the 29-Year-Old Admit To?

According to reports from The Guardian, the son of the Norwegian princess did not plead guilty to rape charges. He also denied allegations of abuse in intimate relationships and filming female genitalia without their knowledge.

However, the 29-year-old did plead guilty to sexual misconduct, drug offenses, violating a restraining order, and several traffic violations. He also partially took responsibility for causing serious bodily injury, reckless behavior, and violating a restraining order.

The Epstein Affair Reaches Norway

Meanwhile, the mother of the 29-year-old, Princess Mette-Marit, is dealing with the Jeffrey Epstein case. Journalists from VG found that her name appeared in the pedophile’s documents over a thousand times. Records reveal that the princess lived in Epstein’s house in Palm Beach.

“I deeply regret this and must take responsibility for it. I made a wrong assessment of the situation and regret that I had contact with Epstein at all. It’s simply embarrassing,” said Mette-Marit to VG.
