Poland’s government considers easing employment regulations amid concerns from social partners and experts over potential worker-employer tensions.
Legislative Progress
The new draft law on the Labour Inspection Office (PIP) from January 28, 2026 (UD 283) is likely to be considered at the next meeting of the Committee of the Council of Ministers.
Consultation Requests
Social partners believe there are too many changes and need time for consultations. Therefore, Lewiatan has requested seven days for consultations from the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Labour. OPZZ plans to take the same step.
Expert Concerns
Experts do not hide that the new version of the project requires analysis. The reason is the regulations concerning the implementation of the inspector’s decision to convert a civil law contract into an employment contract, which could lead to tensions between employers and employees.
