Polish Traveler Found Dead in Siberia

Polish cyclist and traveler Adam Borejko was found dead in a hotel in Yakutia, Russia; official cause of death remains unknown.

Adam Borejko, a Polish traveler, died in a hotel near the town of Chandyga in Yakutia, Russia. Local rescue services announced his death. According to their account, the Pole had dinner and went to sleep. When he did not emerge from his room the next morning, staff found him showing no signs of life. Death was confirmed, though the official cause remains unknown as Russian investigators continue their case.

Son’s Farewell

Adam Borejko’s son, Patryk Żukow, shared the last messages exchanged with his father on January 31st. Their WhatsApp conversation included the son asking about adventures and the father responding from -46°C conditions. The father wrote, “Heavy self-experience” when asked about his solo journey. Patryk later posted a moving Instagram tribute, describing his father’s solo conquest of the world’s three greatest elements by bicycle: Sahara, Himalayas, and Siberia.

Journey of a Lifetime

Adam Borejko was an experienced cyclist and traveler who had covered 30,000 kilometers across 16 countries during his expeditions. Technical problems with bicycle parts occurred during his travels. His Siberian expedition aimed for Oymyakon, the coldest inhabited settlement in the world with a population of 500 residents.
