What is a Window of Life?

A window of life is a safe place where a parent can anonymously leave their child. As Caritas informed, it is usually located in a discreet place and is open 24 hours a day. Heating and ventilation are provided inside. When someone decides to leave a child, an alarm is activated, which is a signal for the persons responsible for the window of life to pick it up. Subsequently, according to procedures, the emergency services and family court are notified.
