Cold fronts moving from northwest to southeast across Poland may bring temporary showers and thunderstorms, with temperatures dropping to 17–21°C by Saturday as the heatwave potentially ends.
End of the Heatwave in Poland?
The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) reported that cold atmospheric fronts are approaching Poland from the northwest, traveling toward the southeast. These fronts will bring brief rainfall, including thunderstorms in the north. Cooler maritime air will arrive on Saturday, keeping maximum temperatures between 17–21°C.
Snow in the Mountains
On Saturday, temperatures in the foothills of the Beskids will range from 15–18°C, while the Sudetes foothills will see 12–15°C. Higher elevations in the Beskids will be colder, with expected temperatures of 6–10°C, and the Sudetes peaks at 3–4°C. IMGW meteorologists noted that in the Tatra Mountains above 2000 meters, snow showers may occur, with peak temperatures at the summits reaching approximately 4°C.
Weather for Sunday
Sunday is forecast to be partly cloudy over much of Poland, with additional rain expected in the north. The south will remain sunny, with maximum temperatures of 18–21°C. In Podhalu, temperatures will drop slightly to around 17°C. IMGW stated, “Winds will generally be moderate, occasionally gusty, with stronger gusts from the west and northwest near the sea.”
