Internet to Launch on LOT Aircraft; Rollout Timeline Revealed

LOT Airlines will introduce in-flight internet starting March 2024 on Dreamliners, expanding to other fleets through 2027.

In-Flight Internet Availability

Many airlines, including KLM, Lufthansa, Air Canada, Aeroflot, Iberia, and Qatar Airways, now offer onboard Wi-Fi, typically for a fee, though some provide it free of charge.

LOT will join these providers with its own internet service rollout, beginning with its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner currently undergoing maintenance in Rzeszów.

Dreamliner Internet Rollout

Internet service will debut on the first Dreamliner 787-9 in March 2024, with subsequent “nines” receiving installations during their scheduled maintenance checks.

Smaller Dreamliner 787-8 models will gain Wi-Fi starting next year following interior retrofits, with the process continuing through 2027.

Frequent flyers will receive complimentary access, while other passengers will pay for the service.

Airbus A220 and Boeing 737 MAX Plans

Wi-Fi will also be installed on new medium-haul Airbus A220 aircraft, with deliveries scheduled between 2027 and 2031; LOT has ordered 40 of these planes.

Discussions are underway to equip new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft with Wi-Fi installations; six of the 13 MAX planes due this year have already arrived.

Interior Design Overhaul

LOT’s new 737 MAX interiors feature a design inspired by Polish landscapes, incorporating the airline’s signature navy blue, amber, and copper colors, with a prominent crane motif.

Business class will transition from wall-flat beds to angled seats for enhanced privacy, with similar aesthetics planned for retrofitted Dreamliner 787-8 cabins.

This design language extends to LOT’s business lounges—Mazurek and Polonez at Warsaw Chopin and Chicago O’Hare—which have received awards from the Industrial Design Institute.
