US Patriot missiles moved to trucks in Qatar’s Al Udeid base as Iran warns of retaliation amid rising Middle East tensions.
US Military Movements
Satellite images show the US has placed Patriot missiles on trucks at its Al Udeid base in Qatar. This allows for faster transport or evacuation in case of an Iranian attack, Reuters reported, citing Contested Ground analyst William Goodhinde. The Pentagon declined to comment.
Since January, the region has seen increased deployments of aircraft and military equipment, Reuters noted. Al Udeid is the largest US base in the Middle East, hosting about 10,000 soldiers.
Trump’s Warning
President Trump stated the US will be forced to take “very dangerous action” if no deal is reached with Iran. In an interview with Israel’s Channel 12, he also mentioned considering deploying a second aircraft carrier to the Middle East due to escalating tensions.
Trump asserted Tehran will not possess nuclear weapons or missiles. In June 2025, part of the US military and families were evacuated from Middle East bases after Iran fired six rockets at Al Udeid, missing their target.
Iranian Diplomatic Talks
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary, Ali Larijani, met with Oman’s Sultan in Muscat to discuss “latest developments in US-Iranian negotiations,” per Al Jazeera. Larijani warned the US against being “taught negotiation terms by Zionists” and urged vigilance against their “destructive role.”
The talks follow the first indirect US-Iran negotiations in Oman on nuclear and sanctions issues. Iran’s nuclear chief, Mohammad Eslami, stated Tehran is open to reducing highly enriched uranium if the US lifts sanctions.
