Euronet Poland will reduce single ATM withdrawal limits to 200 zł starting February 19, 2026, citing rising transaction costs.
Only 200 zł from ATM. New rules in Euronet network
Euronet Polska has announced changes for customers using company-owned ATMs. The network will change the single withdrawal limit using BLIK – from February 19, 2026, only 200 zł can be withdrawn at once. Importantly, the restriction will cover all ATMs and deposit machines (recyclers) in the network. The exception will be devices marked with partner bank logos.
Change to take effect February 19, 2026, related to increasing transaction costs
The change will take effect on February 19, 2026, and – as the company emphasizes – is related to rising transaction costs. Importantly, Euronet still does not charge commissions for BLIK or Polish bank card withdrawals. The modification only affects the amount of a single transaction.
Why is Euronet cutting limits? “Rising operating costs”
The operator explains the decision as necessary to reduce losses resulting – as it claims – from inadequate settlement rates in the system. According to the company, the current model causes some operations to be carried out below actual operating costs. The situation is also affected by changes in interchange rates introduced by payment organizations Mastercard and Visa. Although the new regulations partially improve profitability, Euronet points out that they still do not fully cover expenses related to maintaining the ATM infrastructure.
BLIK warns: customer convenience and security will decline
The Polish Payment Standard (PSP), operator of the BLIK system, stated in an official position that the 200 zł limit is an autonomous decision by Euronet and represents another stage of gradual limit reductions in this network. According to PSP, such a reduction – from the previous 800 zł to 200 zł – may mean customers need to make several transactions instead of one. This in turn translates to less comfort and potentially higher risk associated with multiple ATM use.
The operator also emphasizes that other ATM owners in Poland have not introduced similar restrictions. Cash can be withdrawn using BLIK code in over 13,000 devices in the country, including about 8,000 bankomats owned by banks, where limits remain significantly higher. An alternative remains withdrawing cash at store cash registers offering the cash back service.
Dynamic growth of BLIK despite market obstacles
The BLIK mobile payment system remains one of the pillars of the Polish fintech market. In the first half of 2025, the number of operations reached 1.4 billion, and their value exceeded 207 billion zł – which means double-digit year-on-year growth. The development of BLIK is handled by the company Polish Payment Standard, whose shareholders include PKO BP, mBank, ING Bank Śląski, Santander Bank Polska, Bank Millennium, Alior Bank and Mastercard.
